A TINY CRATERED ASTEROID — BEHIND IT, A WHOLE IMPASTO SKY SWIRLING. Cosmo stands alone on a small rock, paintbrushes poking from his backpack, the painted heavens churning huge around him. It would be easy to read this as loneliness — one little astronaut, one little world. But look at the backpack. He didn't come empty-handed. He came with brushes, which means he came intending to add something, which means he was never truly only watching. The asteroid is small. The sky is endless.
