Cosmo throws both arms wide and his mouth makes the universal shape of WAIT, THESE ARE ALL OPEN? Nova hovers behind, unsurprised, having always known. He came in expecting a corridor — one way through, helpfully signposted. Instead the room hands him a ring of doors and a compass floor that points everywhere at once. The terror and the gift are the same fact: nothing here is choosing for him. The freedom isn't a door.
