BAROQUE THEATRE LOBBY — A LIT MARQUEE, MARBLE COLUMNS, HANGING PUPPETS, CLOCKS, FRAMED PORTRAITS. Cosmo stands beneath the marquee while a gold-marked Nova floats beside him. The twist is that this is the lobby, not the show. Cosmo expected the marvellous thing to be inside, past the doors, on the stage. But the lobby itself is full — puppets hanging, clocks ticking, portraits watching, a marquee blazing his name. He realises the lobby is not a waiting room he must endure to reach the real experience. The threshold is part of the experience. The held breath before the curtain, the framed portraits of who came before — the anticipation is not a delay. It is the overture. 💡 THE INSIGHT: The threshold is not wasted time before the real thing.
